Membership

The board consists of seven (7) or more members, one of whom serves as Chairman, one as Secretary, one as Treasurer, one as Publicist, one as Word Master, one as Scorer supervisor, one as Registration Chairman and one or more as member at-large.

Board Members are corporately to select new board members for the various offices, from past winners, contestants, scorers and other capable and interested persons. The Board and individual new members shall be presented to the Chapter 310 Board for the adoption of the Spelling Bee Board's continued functioning. The term of service is for 3 years, which term may be renewed.

It is the duty of the entire Board to be alert to potentially new members for the Board and any who could assist the Spelling Bee to continue with a National Perspective with a Professional Quality. It is the entire Board''s responsibility for the successful operation of the Spelling Bee in every respect: to establish Rules and Regulations, ensuring strict adherence to them; dates and schedules for the Bee, development and protection of the Bee's logo and stationery and such other forms and documents that may be deemed appropriate for the efficient operation of the Bee; the financial management of and reimbursement of authorized and legitimate expenses incurred by the Board and its Volunteers.
